The DiCello Firm began with the wish and dream of one man, Robert J. DiCello: to become a lawyer and serve those who have been seriously injured, those who most needed help with the tragedy of personal loss. Mr. DICello's business began (and remains to this day) in the city of Mentor, Ohio. The year was 1973. As it grew, he considered partnering with other lawyers. And for a while, his partnership with prominent colleagues from Lake County, Ohio thrived. But by the mid 1980's, Mr. DiCello had decided to continue his practice alone.
It was not until Mark A. DiCello joined the business in 1996 that The DiCello Firm began its biggest period of growth and change. Although Mr. DiCello had established a solid reputation for being a successful litigator fighting companies like Conrail (unsafe rail crossing), Yamaha (unsafe motorcycle design), and the Cleveland Clinic (medical malpractice) - among others, Mark's arrival pushed the Firm to expand.
In 2000, Robert J. DiCello and his son Mark won an important medical malpractice trial. The verdict was in excess of four million dollars. Father and son enjoyed the experience of helping another family.
In 2003, Mr. DiCello's other son, attorney Robert F. DiCello ("Bob Jr."), joined the firm. Bob Jr. brought more litigation experience, having been a supervisor at the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's office. He also expanded the Firm's ability to handle criminal, fraud, and business litigation matters.
In 2008, The Firm welcomed attorney Mark A. Schneider to the practice. Having a wealth of litigation experience as a member of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Office's Major Trial Division, Mark successfully won a seat as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives for Lake County Ohio's 63rd District in the fall of 2008. Along with tending to matters involving the leadership of the State, he plays an instrumental role in The Firm's probate case work.
Presently The DiCello Firm employs four attorneys and a staff of six additional personnel, (five litigation assistants/paralegals and one Staff Attorney). The Firm recently named Mark D. Ribar to the position of Staff Attorney in August. The Firm has the ability to handle a wide range of cases, but it focuses on the needs of the catastrophically injured - those who have lost loved ones, who have been seriously injured, or who have been the victims of other serious wrongdoing.
